Kenley Primary School
Mission:
Love of learning for life
Our School
Kenley Primary School is a single form entry school on the Croydon and Surrey borders. We have extensive grounds and have a flourishing forest school, including a wildlife pond, which is enjoyed by our whole school community. We work to develop a love of learning through a stimulating and creative curriculum, enhanced by a range of educational trips and visits, ensuring that pupils leave Kenley with a broad range of educational experiences.
Our aim is for all of our pupils to develop a ‘Love of Learning for Life’. We provide a stimulating and happy environment in which staff, parents and Governors work together to enable the school to provide a creative, balanced and meaningful curriculum. We are a vibrant school that does our very best to ensure all our children flourish throughout their time with us; thriving as individuals and achieving their academic potential.
We strongly believe in the inclusion of every child and have developed our provision to ensure that all of our children are able to flourish, this includes a well-established ELSA provision and targeted support from both internal and external specialists.
Our Pupils
We encourage our children to be positive, responsible and considerate whilst being confident and successful independent learners and working cooperatively with others. Pupils are proud of our school and enjoy attending (OFSTED 2018). They are well motivated and demonstrate positive behaviour for learning, this is supported by a robust behaviour policy which is implement consistently throughout the school.
Teaching and Learning
Teaching and learning at Kenley is good. Our outdoor spaces allow deeper explorations into Science, Geography, History and Art, alongside the opportunity to develop ides for writing and other indoor learning tasks. We have specialist teachers who deliver MFL and PE.
Professional Development
We believe that every individual in the school is a learner and actively encourage and support staff to develop their knowledge. Curriculum leaders work with staff to develop practice and we use professional bodies to support training needs. Our senior leaders regularly work with staff to share their expertise and current educational developments. Having recently joined the Collegiate Trust, we also have access to high quality staff development and the sharing of expertise across all of the Collegiate school.
We have good relationship with our local community and actively encourage secondary aged pupils to join us for work experience, as well as supporting adults embarking on teaching assistant training to carry out their work experience with us.

Approximately 20 minutes from East Croydon by car or 15 minutes by train – which is a 10-minute walk from Whyteleafe train station. There are two bus routes which serve the local area and stop a short walk from the school, meaning we are easily accessible by public transport. We are also only 20 minutes from Junction 6 of the M25.
